Symbolisation of good luck

When I was a primary school kid, spotted red ladybugs represented good luck to primary school children as a ladybug was a rarity to find. The belief was the same as finding a four leaf clover. Recently within my herb garden, I found both - a ladybug and a four leaf clover! The ladybug was found curiously grazing amongst a clutter of mint basil leaves. The four leaf clover was found growing wildly in a cluster of four leaf clovers within my herb garden. I placed the four leaf clover on the palm of my hand.
